There are a few new American DJs who can be said to turn a club into ash and one of them is Chicago’s Black Madonna.
From the Bunker NYC to San Francisco, reports of her blazing sets have carried like the wind. As Creative Director at Chi-town’s renowned Smart Bar, she’s transformed it into a destination for techno tourists. Her stance on dance music is no laughing matter:
“Dance music needs riot grrrls. Dance music needs Patti Smith. It needs DJ Sprinkles. Dance music needs some discomfort with its euphoria. Dance music needs salt in its wounds.”
We’ll let her do the rest of the talking.
