You’ll learn how others have succeeded in the music and creative industires, how to read and create financial statements, how to know when its OK to do something for free and when you’d be better off doing something else and much more. Students attending this 2.5 hour seminar and networking session will learn to:
– Develop a plan for your creative endeavors
– Develop and understand budgets and financial reports for your work
– Analyze different scenarios for what to work on and how that your financial return
– Set goals and measure results
– Develop a plan to achieve your desired outcomes, be that transitioning to full time or simply funding the work you want to create
– Students will also leave with a template spreadsheet file to use in their implementation of the learning outcomes

About Alex
Alex is the Co-Founder of Mmmmaven and the Managing Director of Together Boston. His passion for music and culture has lead him to play a key role in some of Boston’s most interesting innovations in music, art and technology.
About Joe
Joe is a small business and entrepreneurship expert. He is a Partnner and Director of Business Education at The Delta Foodservice Group, a full service consulting firm. He’s also the Founder of Somerville Local First, a member of the speakers bureau at the American Independent Business Alliance, where he speaks across the nation on topics related to the growth, development and success of small businesses. Joe also has been involved in Together Boston Festival since it’s inception and currently acts as Chief Operating Officer for the festival.
In his time with Together Boston, Joe has lead the business and financial modeling and execution which has lead to the growth and profitability of the festival, without the benefit of investment dollars: a feat unheard of in the industry.
