Confute is the new concept from music producer Gary Curran from The Japanese Popstars.

Hailing from Ireland/UK and described by fellow members as the heartbeat and creative force behind the band, his ideas and compositions inspired collaborations with Robert Smith from The Cure, Morgan Kibby of M83, Jon Spencer of Blues Explosion, Tom Smith of Editors, Green Velvet and Lisa Hannigan.

Having previously released 3 Albums, with Gung Ho, EMI and Bedrock, and an ever increasing remix catalogue for artists such as Beyonce, Groove Armada, Pete Tong, Daft Punk, 30 Seconds To Mars, Depeche Mode, Gorillaz, Benny Benassi and Kylie Minogue and more, Gary has decided that it is time to step away from the group environment for now and bring his individual flare for writing electronic music to the forefront as Confute.

Although very much in its infancy Confute has drummed up support from Carlo Lio, James Zabiela, Proxy, Psycatron and Stephan Bodzin, to name a few. His remix of Proxy’s “Iron” on Turbo laid down the marker for the direction Confute intends to take.

His initial EP quickly followed and “On The Hour” and “Thumpers” were released through Dutch techno legend Secret Cinema’s imprint Gem.

His way of creating atmosphere with his music is almost alien. He has carefully crafted his own unique twist on techno and tech house that curates a fine balance between epicness and layers of bass so deep it will make your teeth rattle.
