We had serious #FOMO this weekend as Loop Berlin, fast becoming the most cutting-edge music festival in the entire world, took place at the Funkhaus Berlin. Without our superstar intern Katharine to write about it, we’ve selected some of our favorite posts from the weekend.
Honored guest and new music pioneer Goldie had some interesting quips about the democratization of electronic music:
Goldie (@MRGOLDIE): “As a concept, electronic music did to the world of music what graffiti did to the art world.” #loopberlin pic.twitter.com/C1t3VI4Htv

Ethan Hein, music educator at NYU’s @musedlab pointed out how useful computer music is in education:
Ethan Hein (@ethanhein) on computer music in the classroom: "You don't need a huge amount of theory before you start being creative; it lowers technical barriers to making music. It's empowering." #loopberlin pic.twitter.com/2NdZp0GVD8

With the recent Ableton purchase of Max for Live developers Cycling74, of course they made an appearance:
Tom Hall of Cycling '74 (@cycling74): "It was an amazing feeling to export code into a piece of hardware for the first time." #loopberlin pic.twitter.com/IWqwJ1aFkJ

And BOTH original Together Boston (#tgthr1) guests, Machine Drum and DJ/Rupture (h/t @BeatReasearch), had interesting talks on the power of process:
Machinedrum (@machine_drum): “Old, unfinished projects are not a waste of time. They’re a learning experience, knowledge.” #loopberlin

Jace Clayton (@djrupture): “it’s kind of cool… the first message we’re giving to extraterrestrials is: you need to build a turntable.” #loopberlin #goldisthenewvinyl pic.twitter.com/VTm1kVkcgL

While JLin was the first to admit trusting yourself is the first step:
JLin (@Jlin_P): “It’s easy to be trendy. It’s so easy. When you say I want to be authentically me, that’s hard as hell.” #loopberlin pic.twitter.com/H7xiIijeNs

Then, of course, came the real stars of the show, the astonishing now of Loop’s incredible installations and performances:
It seems the closing performance of Nosaj Thing stole the show in the end, perfectly capturing one of the catchphrases born at #LoopBerlin:
The Screen is Your Stage
BONUS GRAM! We caught former Together New Business Developer and long-time friend of all of ours, Coleman (@onelikecodiac), on the job:
