This Thursday, the Museum of Fine Arts will host the Young People’s Project’s Summer Teen S.T.E.A.M. Day, which will contain numerous workshops focused on music, art, business, and technology.The Young People’s Project aims to develop the abilities of elementary through high school students to succeed in school and in life by providing classes, leadership training, and workshops. Doing so involves students in efforts to eliminate institutional obstacles to their success.There will be 8 workshops for students to choose from at Summer Teen S.T.E.A.M. Day, including a digital music production workshop hosted by us! Our own Wiggz (Moduloktopus) will lead an introduction to making, mixing, and performing music using Ableton Live 9. Other workshops include computer programming led by Akamai, green technology led by Big Belly Solar, web entrepreneurism led by Care.com, basics of banking led by Eastern Bank, music and business led by Kiran Gandhi, life sciences by Mouse Specifics, and fine art restoration and conservation led by the MFA.
