Certified Ableton Trainer and Berklee Associate Professor Loudon Stearns will be presenting an improvisational remix technique for Ableton Live, Push and and Sampler that is reminiscent of vinyl record scratching. It’s crazy fun and easy to perform with!
In exploring this technique students will learn: building sampled instruments in Ableton’s Sampler, building instrument racks and mapping macro controls, using Live’s arpeggiator and Push’s repeat mode, advanced modulation in Ableton’s Sampler, editing and launch modes within Live, the advanced note modes in Push, rhythmic performance techniques, and using the touch strip and pad pressure.
Instructor Nick Garcia will be presenting the nativeKontrol Blocklive script for the Livid Block controller. Livid’s Block controller is a programable MIDI control surface and can become a specialized and powerful interface to Live with the nativeKontrol Blocklive script. Check out its functions and features in action:
Sound designer, new media artist, composer and MMMMaven instructor Andrew Hlynsky will be showing 15 minutes of audio editing tricks to speed up your workflow, then demonstrating and reviewing the Leap Motion, a 3d hand controller.
Controlled feedback loops are excellent sources of sounds, expression, and inspiration. Boston based artist Ali Berger will reveal how to harness internal feedback loops in Live to open new sonic possibilities.
Multi-genre Electronic Chameleon and Mmmmaven instructor Moduloktopus will be showcasing VIZZable for Ableton 9. This Max for Live plugin opens up the possibilities of VJing inside Ableton and creative uses to visual effects to assemble a Live set suitable for a realtime Audio Visual performance.
Friday, Sept. 27th from 7:00 to 9:30PM
