To celebrate our second anniversary of being a new-era music enterprise (education, events and agency) Mmmmaven is proud to bring back one of the most fascinating, talented and visionary music makers … and this time he’s bringing a few friends.
Jon Hopkins played our launch party back in 2011 but has since simply taken over the scene, collaborating with stars like Purity Ring and Natasha Khan (aka Bat for Lashes). On Monday, November 18th, he’s playing The Sinclair.
His album, Immunity, released this year, garnered acclaim from all corners of the earth. So much acclaim he has been nominated for this year’s esteemed Mercury Music Prize. If you haven’t yet, listen to the album’s lead single, the remarkable “Open Eye Signal.”
But that’s not all we have in store for Monday, November 18th at The Sinclair. Do you know about Clark?
Another British composer, Chris Clark is a prolific producer from the stable of Warp Records, perhaps the most iconic electronic music label in the world. Having released six albums for the label, his latest is a collection (“Feast/Beast”) of remixes and productions, coming in at a total of 29 tracks. He is no less of a giant of IDM and electronica.
And then there’s Nathan Fake. The young Brit created a fervor with the release of his album Drowning in a Sea of Love on James Holden’s Border Community label, a label explicitly designed to reveal the softer, trancier side of electronic music. The album includes the landmark single, The Sky Was Pink:
Since, he has also catapulted into a realm of Radiohead remixes, YouTube tutorials and world tours.
Please join us in welcoming this remarkable British bill to The Sinclair on Monday November 18th to celebrate two years of teaching people how to mix and make the music they love. A rare triple-threat night of undeniable musical genius.
